Weight & midlife

If what used to work doesn't anymore, it's not just about willpower.

Midlife can change the way your body responds to the same things that used to work.

Muscle mass may decline.

That can affect how much energy your body uses each day.

Sleep, stress, and appetite can change.

That can make hunger, cravings, and consistency harder to manage.

Insulin sensitivity and body-fat distribution can shift.

You may notice weight settling differently, especially around the middle.

And for many women, perimenopause and menopause add another layer.

This isn't about trying harder. It's about finding an approach that makes sense for your body, your health, and the level of support you want.

Keonté Fisher, FNP-BC

Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in midlife women's health

For more than a decade, I've cared for women navigating complex health concerns, and I've seen how often weight changes in midlife are brushed off as simply needing to “eat less and exercise more.”

I created Discreet Health to offer women a different experience: thoughtful medical care, clear guidance, and treatment options that recognize that weight, hormones, metabolic health, sleep, and lifestyle can all be connected.

Whether you choose a streamlined GLP-1 option or a more comprehensive evaluation, you'll know who is overseeing your care.

What sets Discreet Health apart

A woman holding a cup of tea by a sunlit window

Weight-loss care should feel personal, even when it happens online.

1

Built specifically for women in midlife

Your weight-loss care is guided by a nurse practitioner who specializes in the changes women experience through perimenopause, menopause, and midlife.

2

Choose how much support you want

Want a simple way to get started with GLP-1 treatment? We have that. Want a deeper look at your metabolic health, symptoms, and lifestyle? You can choose that too.

3

Medication is part of the plan, not the whole conversation

When appropriate, GLP-1 medications can be a powerful tool. Your care also includes monitoring, dose adjustments, and guidance to help you use treatment safely and effectively.

4

Care from a provider, not just a platform

You'll know who is overseeing your treatment and have ongoing clinical support as your needs change.

Insurance and Payment

Program fees and medication costs are separate.

The Weight Reset Program is a self-pay program. Program fees cover your clinical care and are separate from the cost of your medication.

If you choose Personalized Care, we'll review your insurance benefits and, when appropriate, submit a prior authorization to see whether your plan may help cover the cost of a GLP-1 medication.

Some insurance plans cover GLP-1 medications for weight management, but most have exclusions, restrictions, or specific eligibility requirements. If your medication is not covered, self-pay medication options may still be available.

Please note: Some government-sponsored health plans have billing rules that restrict when members can participate in cash-pay medical programs. We'll review your insurance information during eligibility screening to make sure the Weight Reset Program is an appropriate option for you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why did Discreet Health create the Weight Reset Program?

Women were asking us for something different.

Many wanted the convenience of online weight-loss care without feeling like their health had been reduced to a questionnaire and a prescription.

Discreet Health already provides care focused on the changes women experience through perimenopause, menopause, and midlife. Weight Reset brings that same approach to medical weight management.

Whether you want a streamlined GLP-1 evaluation or a more in-depth look at your metabolic health, you can choose the level of care that fits you.

What medications do you use?

Medication recommendations are individualized.

Depending on your health history, treatment goals, insurance coverage, medication availability, and other clinical factors, your provider may consider FDA-approved medications used for weight management, including GLP-1–based medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide, as well as other appropriate treatment options.

There is no single medication that is right for everyone.

Your provider will review the available options with you and recommend treatment based on your individual needs.

GLP-1–based medications have been studied extensively for chronic weight management. In a 72-week head-to-head clinical trial, adults taking tirzepatide lost an average of 20.2% of their starting body weight, compared with 13.7% with semaglutide.

Individual results vary. Clinical-trial averages do not predict or guarantee individual results.

What's the difference between Quick Start and Personalized Care?

Quick Start is designed for women who mainly want a streamlined GLP-1 evaluation and medication management.

Personalized Care is for women who want a more in-depth look at their symptoms, health history, metabolic health, and other factors that may be affecting their weight.

Both options include a telehealth provider visit and GLP-1 prescribing when medically appropriate.

Personalized Care also includes a deeper clinical assessment, laboratory evaluation when appropriate, and insurance benefit and prior-authorization assistance.

Will I actually meet with a provider?

Yes. You'll have a real telehealth visit with a licensed healthcare provider.

Your provider will review your information, screen for safety concerns, and determine whether weight-loss medication is medically appropriate for you.

This is not a text-only prescribing service.

Is Weight Reset covered by insurance?

The Weight Reset Program is a self-pay program. Your program fee covers your clinical care and is separate from the cost of your medication.

Some government-sponsored health plans have billing rules that restrict when members can participate in cash-pay medical programs. We'll review your insurance information during eligibility screening to make sure Weight Reset is an appropriate option for you.

Will my insurance cover the medication?

Possibly. Coverage varies widely by insurance plan.

Some plans cover certain FDA-approved weight-loss medications, while others exclude them or require specific eligibility criteria and prior authorization.

If you choose Personalized Care, we'll review your insurance benefits and, when appropriate, submit a prior authorization request to find out whether your plan may help cover the medication.

If your medication is not covered, we'll discuss available self-pay options before you decide how you want to proceed.

What will my medication cost?

Medication is not included in your Weight Reset program fee.

Your cost will depend on the medication prescribed, your insurance coverage, and the pharmacy or medication option available to you.

If you choose Personalized Care, we'll investigate whether your insurance may cover an FDA-approved medication and submit a prior authorization when appropriate.

If insurance does not cover your medication, we'll discuss available options before you decide how you want to proceed.

How does ongoing monthly care work?

If treatment is started, ongoing Weight Reset care is required for ongoing medication management and prescription renewals.

You'll complete a brief monthly check-in so your provider can review your progress, side effects, and dose.

Choose the option that works best for you:

  • Month-to-month: $109/month
  • 3-month prepaid: $297 total — equivalent to $99/month • Save $30
  • 6-month prepaid: $534 total — equivalent to $89/month • Save $120

Medication cost is separate.

Do I need labs before starting?

Not everyone needs the same laboratory testing.

Whether labs are needed depends on your medical history, current medications, symptoms, available recent results, and the type of care you choose.

Personalized Care is designed for women who want a more in-depth assessment and may include metabolic and nutritional laboratory testing based on their individual needs.

What if I'm not eligible for medication?

Weight-loss medication is not appropriate for everyone.

If treatment is not medically appropriate for you, your provider will explain why and discuss reasonable next steps or other options that may be worth considering.

A prescription is never guaranteed simply because you scheduled or paid for an evaluation.

What if I don't see results right away?

Weight-loss response varies from person to person, and meaningful results can take time.

Your monthly check-ins allow your provider to review your progress, side effects, current dose, and overall response to treatment.

When appropriate, your treatment plan can be adjusted over time rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

What are the most common side effects?

Side effects depend on the medication prescribed.

With GLP-1–based medications, common side effects are primarily digestive and may include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, decreased appetite, or stomach discomfort.

Before treatment begins, we'll review common side effects, important precautions, and symptoms that require medical attention.

What's the difference between FDA-approved and compounded medication?

FDA-approved medications have gone through FDA review for safety, effectiveness, quality, and manufacturing standards for their approved uses.

Compounded medications are prepared by compounding pharmacies and are not FDA-approved.

FDA-approved GLP-1 medications are our preferred option when clinically appropriate and accessible.

Compounded medication is not used as a routine substitute for an FDA-approved product. In limited situations, a compounded medication may be considered when a patient's medical needs cannot be met by an available FDA-approved option.

If that situation applies to you, we'll explain the differences, potential risks, and available alternatives before moving forward.

Can I cancel or change my ongoing care plan?

Yes. If you choose month-to-month care, you can cancel before your next renewal date.

If you purchase a prepaid 3- or 6-month plan, the terms of that plan apply.

You'll be able to review the payment, renewal, and cancellation terms before enrolling in ongoing care.

How long will I need to take weight-loss medication?

There is no single timeline that applies to everyone.

Some people may benefit from longer-term treatment, while others may eventually transition to a different maintenance strategy.

Your provider will periodically review your progress, goals, side effects, and overall health and discuss whether continuing, changing, or stopping treatment makes sense for you.

What happens when I reach my goal weight?

Reaching your goal does not necessarily mean your care suddenly ends.

Your provider can work with you on a maintenance strategy, which may include changes to your medication, nutrition, physical activity, strength training, and other habits that support long-term weight management.

Your maintenance plan will depend on your individual response and health needs.

Do I have to be in menopause to join Weight Reset?

No.

Weight Reset is designed with midlife women in mind, including women navigating perimenopause and menopause, but your eligibility for treatment is based on your individual medical history and whether medical weight-loss treatment is appropriate for you.

Which states do you serve?

Weight Reset is available by telehealth to eligible patients located in:

Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware.

Choose care that fits your body, your goals, and your life.

Your next step takes 2 minutes.
